About

I’m not a trained professional, although I did have a cookie business here in Chicago for several years. That’s on hold now while I try to get it positioned to actually make some money. Meanwhile, since I’ve always got food on the brain, a blog about what I’m cooking and eating.
What I’ve always been into is making food for people. Good food, real food, not that processed stuff. I cook like I mean it, even though most nights it’s just me and the Husband. It’s a love thing.

I loathe the term, “foodie.”

Yeah, but what a great person to cook for/with/to…
I say this as a discerning reader of blogs and not a friend of the blogger, what a thoroughly enjoyable and well presented blog. Kudos CB, keep it up.
Now how about a batch of espresso brownie points?
Excellent blog, Christine! Witty, good photos … and recipes! Keep ‘em coming. I don’t suppose you’d ever reveal the secret to HOT chocolate sables? Never mind … I’m gonna try those chocolate chip cookies and chocolate cake for my fix.
Happy New Year to you and the Husband!
Keep the Faith and keep the Feast.
Love from the well fed souls of Santa Fe, NM.

A client sent me a box of your cookies awhile back. They were fabulous, and I eagerly await your return to business!

Saw your link through Stacey Cavanaugh’s face book page, I like your blog. Have you been to Panes Bread Cafe 3002 North Sheffield Avenue, Chicago, IL. I hope it is still good, I am envious of your food access in Chitown and enjoy the blog.
